Introduction

Welcome to the Random Hills Community. We are a small community of 269 town homes conveniently located about 15 miles west of Washington DC on I-66. The main entry to the community is located south of the intersection of Interstate 66 and US route 50 at Waples Mill Road.

The community is nestled between two ponds stocked with gold fish and an abundance of wildlife from hummingbirds to Great Blue Herons to Flycatchers and for a lucky few - resident bluebird families. A little bit of serenity (a quiet retreat) all within a five-mile radius of everyday necessities and amenities - top-rated schools, shopping malls, theaters, restaurants, grocery stores, hospitals, exercise facilities, parks, and the Fairfax County Government Center.

Within an 18 mile radius, Random Hills has access to two major airports, the seventh largest mall in the US at Tyson’s Corner, many Federal, state and commercial/private employers and all the arts, historical monuments and recreation that Washington DC has to offer. With forest and pond views connected by long stretches of easy sidewalks, Interstate 66 is less than three minutes away and the Vienna Metro less than 15 minutes. Proximity to the DC metro area offers something for everyone, and we have it all here at Random Hills.

Area surrounding Random Hills

Several builders are represented in Random Hills including Winchester Homes and  Equity Homes.  The community consists of  luxury townhouses with single or double car garages.  The grounds are beautifully landscaped making a very scenic and livable community.  There is no other community in the area with so much to offer.

We all take pride in our community, and the Board of Directors is actively involved in improving the value of our properties and investments and beautifying the community. Come visit us and see why we enjoy living here!

South Lake

On the South side of Random Hills Road is the South Lake.  This area is beautifully landscaped with a boardwalk near the water level.  The cat tails are at arms reach and the ducks with their chicks silently move toward the shade.  The boardwalk also leads to steps at both ends that allow for a view of the water from a higher elevation.  All the landscaping is nicely trimmed with park benches strategically placed to allow those quiet times to enjoy the view.

North Lake

On the North side of Random Hills Road is a smaller pond with a waterfall and again beautifully cared for landscaping.  The gentle sound of the water cascading down the rocks makes for a pleasant area to relax and watch the geese or ducks.  Several benches overlook the pond and in the summer it is a nice escape to the shade and pleasant sights.  This pond is just a few steps from the community pool.

Random Hills Pool
Pool

The community pool at Random Hills is conveniently located on the North side of Random Hills Road at Grey Finch Drive and Laurel Lake Square.  Access to the pool is through a complete bathhouse where a large pool is available for cooling off or just swimming some laps.  For the toddlers there is a pool just for them where the parents can watch them have fun and play.  The pool is staffed with a trained lifeguard during operating hours from Memorial day through Labor day.  Generally the pool is open from 1:00pm to 8:00pm all week during the summer.

Tennis courts looking North
Tennis Court

The tennis court is located on the North side of Random Hills Road and is accessed by turning North onto Grey Finch Drive and right onto Cedar Knoll Circle.  The court is fully fenced and beautifully surfaced for regulation tennis play.  The court is available for play during daylight hours.  Bring your racquet and have some aerobic fun.

Random Hills Tot Lot
Tot Lots

The Random Hills community owns and maintains three (3) tot lots, generally designed for children 2-8 years of age.  The tot lots are fenced, but without gates.  Use of these tot lots should be with parental supervision, only.  The equipment is regularly inspected and maintained for safe and enjoyable use by residents and guests.

Walking trail on North side of Random Hills Rd.
Walking Trails

The walking trails in the community are beautifully set among the wooded areas surrounding the community.  These trails are asphalt paved and wind back behind the community along the gently rolling hills.

In the summer the tall canopy of trees provides a cool escape from the hot sun as you wind around the wooded areas and across the small stream flowing across the property.  In the fall with the trees alight with color and the lower sun angles, it makes the whole area seem different.

A walk along the trail will sometimes bring glimpses of deer, wild turkeys or many squirrels and birds.

The trails are regularly trimmed and make a pleasant natural setting to unwind after a hard day at work.  When you consider the walking trails, two beautifully landscaped lakes and the luxury townhouses, it seems more like living in a resort than in a residential community.
